This year’s TRAIN WITH THE CHAMPIONS – KARATE SUMMER SCHOOL will take place at Lancaster University, Lancaster, from Monday, 3rd August, until Friday, 7th August 2026.
This hugely popular residential course offers daily Karate classes, suitable for Karateka of all ages and levels, under the superb tuition of some of the KUGB’s most prominent instructors: Sensei Billy Higgins (8th Dan), Sensei Jim Brennan (8th Dan), Sensei Frank Brennan (8th Dan) and Sensei Garry Harford (8th Dan), plus a special guest instructor (TBA).
The course not only offers excellent training but an array of activities once you are finished with your classes for the day, such as a social evening, a first aid lecture and a ‘superstars’ sports competition.  
There are many historical sights to see in the area, and Blackpool is just a 40 minutes drive away.
Students can book the whole week or individual days or classes via the KUGB app.   This is a flexible course, so you have complete control over how much your train, socialise and sight-see!

Parking Information
The University has now moved to an ANPR car parking system, which includes the sport centre. This means that members can still get 2 hours free, as usual, however going beyond this will result in a parking fine. The sport centre does offer a further 2 free hours. For this you must input your vehicle registrations into the tablet by reception. If you require more than four hours of parking, you must pay for additional time on the RingGo app.
